March 17, 2020
On March 16, Minnesota Governor Walz released an emergency executive order to close “places of public accommodation” March 17 – 27, directing museums to close to the public.
The museum will be closed to the public starting at 5:00 pm, March 17 through April 5, in conjunction with the library closure. At that time we will reassess the public closure.
Please know we are taking all the precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control, and the Minnesota Department of Health.
Museum staff members will still be available by phone or online. Membership can be paid through the website or mail, research requests by the website, phone, or email. During the closure, the $20 staff research fee is reduced to $10 per hour.
PLEASE NOTE: The Museum Gallery will remain closed through May. The lighting reconstruction project will start during the COVID – 19 closure.
