SUMMARY:Wood Carving Class
DESCRIPTION:Spend the day learning the basics of wood carving while creating your own wooden knife in this hands on class taught by Hal Bitzer. Participants will be guided through shaping\, carving\, and finishing a simple wooden knife using traditional carving techniques. Whether you are brand new to carving or looking to try a new project\, this class is designed to be relaxed\, beginner friendly\, and fun. \nThe Wood Carving Class will be held Saturday\, May 30\, 2026\, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Roseau County Museum. Cost is $10 per person and pre registration is required as space is limited. DESCRIPTION:Try something a little different and get hands-on with Minnesota’s favorite fair tradition\, taught by Marta Shore\, MN State Fair Crop Art Grand Champion. This two-hour Crop Art class is a fun introduction where you’ll create your first piece using simple templates inspired by local themes. Along the way\, you’ll hear about the history and spirit of crop art\, along with a few stories that bring it to life. Everyone will leave with a take-home kit filled with grains\, seeds\, and supplies so you can keep creating on your own. \nOpen to ages 8 and up with an adult present\, or 13 and up on your own. \nClasses will be held at: \n\nJune 4 at 6 p.m. at Folk School Warroad\nJune 5 at 10 a.m. at Badger Community Center\n\nFree to attend\, but pre-registration is required to hold your spot.
