The 37th Annual NW Minnesota Sixth Grade History Contest was held on May 10th, at the Roseau City Center, with six area schools participating. The contest is sponsored by the Roseau County Historical Society. Trophies and cash awards were presented to the top six students. The cash awards are sponsored by Border State Bank – Badger, Citizens State Bank – Roseau, and Security State Bank of Warroad.
This year students from Badger, Lancaster, Lake of the Woods, Marshall County Central, Roseau, and Warroad Schools participated in the test. Three students from each area school compete in a competitive history test for the trophies and cash awards. The following students received the awards: Tied for 1st place Hampton Slukynsky and Ayden Gustafson, both of Warroad; 3rd place Griffin Marvin, Warroad; 4th place Max Wilson, Roseau; 5th place Addi Bakke, Marshall County Central; 6th place Janna Preteau, Roseau.
