March 4 Hear an article in the Warroad Pioneer newspapers from February and March of 1918.
The Roseau County Chapter of The Red Cross is broke, financially busted, all the shekels gone from the treasury, as a result of the industry of the ladies in knitting sweaters, scarves, socks, etc., for the soldiers. The money has all gone to buy yarn to keep the knitters knitting, and while there is no money the knitting needles are on an enforced vacation…
March 11 In 1928, a story in the Roseau Times-Region told about an upcoming fundraiser. The article had this title, “Womanless Wedding to be Big Social Event”. A wedding without a woman playing one of the principal roles is indeed very unusual, but that is just what is going to happen in Roseau Thursday and Friday evenings of next week when the “Womanless Wedding” will be staged at the Memorial Rink under the auspices of Kaleb E. Lindquist Post Number 24 of the American Legion.
March 18 & 25 A family history contributed to Roseau County Museum, compiled and written by Wayne T. Melby in 1986, and is titled “Our Family History from the 16th Century to 1986”. He first describes the distant history of Iceland, then tells about specific ancestors who emigrated to North America.
Thank you to for letting us share the history of our county with your listeners.
