Mark Your Calendar: February Events at the Roseau County Museum
The Roseau County Museum has a full calendar of events planned throughout February, offering opportunities to gather, learn, and take part in hands-on activities. These programs are open to the community and highlight a variety of interests and age groups.
The month begins with the Teddy Bear Tea on Sunday, February 1, from 2–3 p.m., held at the Roseau City Center in partnership with the Roseau Public Library. Families and children are invited to attend. No RSVP is required.
On Saturday, February 7, from 1–3 p.m., the museum will host a Candle Workshop at the Roseau County Museum. Participants will create a candle to take home. Pre-registration is required.
Next, the Jigsaw Puzzle Competition will take place on Saturday, February 14, from 2–4 p.m., at the Roseau City Center, also in partnership with the Roseau Public Library. Pre-registration is required.
On Sunday, February 15, join master basket maker Shannon Lucas Westrum for a hands-on basket weaving workshop. Weave your own basket with a leather handle, perfect for collecting berries and mushrooms. This piece offers a lot of versatility.
A full day of events will take place on Saturday, February 28, in conjunction with Roseau Winterfest. Activities include:
- Snowshoe Excursion with guided tours throughout the day at the Roseau Pioneer Farm
- Frosty’s Flannel Scarf, a family-friendly scavenger hunt at the museum
- Lutefisk, Immigrants, and Lutheran Guilt, a storytelling program by Chad Filley that blends humor with history and regional Scandinavian themes at the City Center
Throughout February, the museum will also hold its “Love Your Museum” Membership Drive. Membership support helps preserve local history, expand programming, and support future projects. Past Preserved. Future Inspired.
