Catch that Christmas spirit with A Scandinavian Christmas. The program features a group of Scandinavian performers presenting a delightful program of Scandinavian Christmas songs, tunes and dances. A Scandinavian Christmas features Ross Sutter singing and playing guitar, button accordion and dulcimer; Art Bjorngjeld on button accordion and fiddle; Char Bostrum on fiddle and Bruce Bostrum on moon harp and various percussion instruments. Art, Char and Bruce all will perform various Swedish and Norwegian dances and Ross will lead the traditional singing games.
Members of this group have performed on stage at Norsk Nøstfest in Minot, North Dakota, the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, the Prairie Home Companion radio show in St. Paul, Battery Park in New York City and even on stages as far away as arctic Norway and Kodiak, Alaska. All of them appear every summer at the Nisswa-stämman festival in Nisswa, Minnesota and at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis, at Sons of Norway Lodges across the Midwest, and at Lutefisk suppers and theaters, festivals and stages all over the country and even in Sweden and Norway.
“This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
After the program we will open the 4th Annual Christmas Tree Walk. Tree decorated by area groups, businesses, organizations, etc. will be on display throughout the museum. Visitors can vote for their favorite tree through monetary donation. Trees will be on display starting this night through the end of December.
