Call for Artists, Presenters, and Traditional Skills Practitioners
Roseau County Historical Society & Museum – 2026 Programming
The Roseau County Historical Society & Museum is seeking experienced artists, craftspeople, performers, and demonstrators to be part of our 2026 public programming focused on the skills and lifeways of early settlers and cultures in Minnesota.
We are looking for engaging presenters with hands-on or demonstrative experience in areas such as:

Traditional weaving and spinning

Wood carving and handcrafting
-
Leatherwork and hide tanning
-
Trapping and fur trade skills
-
Foraging and plant use
-
Baking and hearth cooking
-
Canoeing and water navigation
-
Snowshoeing and winter survival
Do you have a historical trade, folk art, or survival skill to share? We want to hear what you can offer!
Requirements:

Proven experience presenting to groups (children, families, or adults)

Ability to adapt your skill or story into an educational experience

Willingness to work with museum staff on public programming logistics

A reference from a prior event or host organization
Honorariums are available. Programming will take place throughout 2026 at locations across Roseau County.
