Creative Adventures Await at the Roseau County Museum This June
ROSEAU, MN—The Roseau County Museum invites children and families to explore creativity and hands-on learning with a variety of engaging arts events this June. Whether crafting puppets, exploring tie-dye, or dropping in for summer crafts, there’s something for every young artist.
Puppet-Making Workshop with Artist Mitchell Olson
Monday, June 10 | 1:30–3:30 PM
Location: Roseau County Museum
Children ages 6–12 are invited to create a folk art hand puppet in this imaginative workshop led by Lake Bronson artist Mitchell Olson. Known for his whimsical paper puppets, from moose and loons to unicorns and dragons, Olson will guide kids through puppet-making using creativity and improvisation. This hands-on session encourages storytelling, design, and lots of fun.

Tie-Dye T-Shirt Workshop
Saturday, June 28 | 10:30 AM
Location: Roseau County Fairgrounds, 4-H Food Stand Building
Explore the art of tie-dye with professional dyes and expert instruction. This workshop covers everything from fabric prep, dye folding techniques, and color theory. Participants will leave with a hand-dyed creation and a new appreciation for this vibrant art form. This class is open to all ages, from youth to adult.

Summer Explorers: Make & Take Youth Crafts
Every Tuesday | Now through Mid-July | 10 AM–3 PM
Location: Roseau County Museum
This summer, the museum is offering a new approach to its popular youth crafting program. Each Tuesday, children can stop by the museum anytime between 10 AM and 3 PM to create a fun new craft. Seven exciting projects are planned, including painting, moving crafts, and even a cloud finder. Each visit promises a new creative experience. Adult supervision is encouraged for younger participants.
The puppet and tie-dye classes are made possible by grants from the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council, with funding from the Minnesota State Legislature’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
