Have you ever wished you had asked more questions about your family history? Stories fade with time, and once they’re gone, they’re gone for good.
Join us on Saturday, September 13, from 10 AM–12 PM at the Roseau County Museum Research Center for a hands-on workshop with Caleb Curfman on the art of capturing oral history.
This workshop is a chance to slow down, listen, and learn how to preserve the voices and memories of the past 30+ years—stories that deserve to be remembered. Caleb will share simple, practical tools to help you:
Create a comfortable space for conversation
Ask the right open-ended questions
Handle sensitive topics with care
Preserve and archive the stories you collect
Whether it’s a parent, grandparent, neighbor, or community member, their words carry history that can’t be found in books. By the end of this workshop, you’ll feel ready to capture those stories and keep them alive for generations to come.
Bring your curiosity and a willingness to listen. $10 per person (all materials included)
