The 39th Annual NW Minnesota Sixth Grade History Contest was held on May 8th, six area schools participated by taking a MN history test at the Roseau City Center. The test is created and hosted by the Roseau County Historical Society. Trophies and cash awards were presented to the top six students. The cash awards are sponsored by Border State Bank – Badger, Citizens State Bank – Roseau, and Security State Bank of Warroad.
This year, students from Badger, Grygla, Lancaster, Marshall County Central, Roseau, and Warroad Schools participated in the history test. The top three students from each school compete in a competitive test for the trophies and cash awards. The following students received the awards: 1st place Liam Grover, Warroad; 2nd place Abram Hinson, Roseau; 3rd place Bryn Wilson, Roseau; 4th place Katy Comstock, Warroad; 5th place Chase Bachleitner, Roseau; 6th place Nixon Norman, Warroad.
