The NW Minnesota Sixth Grade History Contest was held on April 27th. Six area schools participated by taking a Minnesota history test at the Roseau City Center. The contest has taken place for 41 years and is compiled by the Roseau County Historical Society. Trophies and cash awards were presented to the top six students. The cash awards are sponsored by Border Bank – Roseau County area, Citizens State Bank – Roseau, and Security State Bank of Warroad.
Students from Badger, Greenbush-Middle River (GMR), Grygla, Marshall County Central (MCC), Roseau, and Warroad Schools participated in the test. Three students from each school are chosen by the teacher to compete in the history contest. The following students received top honors (seated L-R): 1st place Harry Roth (Roseau), 2nd place Annie Broten (Roseau), 3rd place Parker Lien (Warroad), 4th place Deegan Hanson (Badger), 5th place Henry Harren (Warroad), and 6th place Zander Yates (Warroad).
