Intro: This report attempts to compile the multiple facts and information regarding Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy Val Johnson’s well-investigated and highly publicized UFO encounter occurring near Stephen, Minnesota, into a single narrative. Multiple sources were used in its Compilation. Much of the information was gleaned from the cataloged newsprint media, UFO journal reports, television video, and audio-taped reports were reviewed. Official sheriff, medical, and expert reports were reviewed. Internet-sourced information was scrutinized. Personal interviews were also conducted to help piece together the most interesting and puzzling UFO encounters in modern history in the United States. Copies of original investigative reports and current photographs of the never-repaired deputy sheriff patrol car involved in the encounter are shared to aid the reader’s understanding, curiosity, of confusion about what happened near Minnesota Highway 220 mile marker 68, Monday at 1:40 A.M. August 27, 1979.
