November 5 By this time 100 years ago, life in the county revolved around the needs of World War I. An article appeared in the October 12, 1917, issue of Roseau Times-Region. Horses were needed for the war effort and this article told the specifics of the horses needed.
November 12 In a Roseau Times-Region from 100 years ago, the Red Cross was encouraging people to create Christmas packages for the servicemen of World War I.
November 19 Cows were an important part of how people made their living in the early years of Roseau County. Milk and cream could be sold and butter made. This story appeared in a late 1917 Roseau Times Region during our involvement in World War I.
November 26 Bert Wenner wrote about his family’s history. A copy of his story is at the Roseau County Museum. This story tells about life during the Depression for him and his four brothers and their parents.
